SOGECABLE GROUP'S VALUES AND COMMITMENTS
The European Union's Green Book defines the Corporative Social Responsibility (CSR) as the "voluntary integration in the social and environmental concerns on the companies' behalf for its commercial operations and its relationship with its negotiators".
The Experts' Forum in the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs' CSR, on its behalf, deems the Social Responsibility as "the voluntary integration of the government and business management, in its strategies, policies and procedures of the social, working, and environmental concerns and of the respect before the human rights that stems from the relationship and the transparent dialogue with its groups of interest, thus accepting responsibility for the consequences and the impact derived from its actions, as well as of the strict compliance with the legal obligations in force".
Likewise, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) defines the sustainable development as the "compliance with the latter without endangering the future generations' ability to fulfil their own needs".
Like this, the Sogecable Group, as a means of audiovisual communications, is responding to the constant and intense evolution in the requests for information, leisure and entertainment with an organisation that endeavours in offering its viewers the best contents, reconciling its programmes' quality with share rates that may enhance its business' profitability, broadcasting reference news for all of the society or fulfilling the working and professional worries and prospects of its employees and members of the Board.
Our sensitivity with regard to society's changes and evolutions, including the unstoppable development of the new technologies, also enables us to appreciate the new requests on society itself's behalf towards the organisations in general and towards the people themselves. We are trying to gather these considerations and worries together, and to respond to them in a responsible and sustainable company policy which leads us to worrying about our behaviour in a social and environmental way, as well as being concerned about our activities' economic impact.
This concern has led us to carrying out a strategic consideration that, depending on the needs of our groups of interest, allows us to respond to them with a brand of firm and clear commitment. We have responded to these groups of interest, among which the viewers, the professionals, the shareholders, providers and society in general may be found, with the definition of our values and commitments as a socially responsible company.
The Sogecable Group's intention is that of offering all of society the chance of enjoying plural and diverse contents through the most varied audiovisual communications' channels. It is thus essential to count on the most qualified professionals and to bet on an improved technology.
Sogecable also wants to establish itself as the most varied and innovative Spanish speaking television offer in audiovisual contents, with a clear commitment to the social demands.
Thus, we are focusing our efforts on developing the best and most qualified team of professionals and the most vanguard technologies in the audiovisual sector, in order to offer them to our clients and to society with the least possible environmental impact.
To do so and to develop the idea, we are undertaking basic values that support our activity and shape our essence and which we are passing on to all the members of the organisation and to all the groups of interests:
We are endeavouring in having our professionals interiorise these values and, that likewise, they convey the latter to all of our society day by day, while we, as a communications' group, accept the responsibility of acting as the driving force of the concerns that may arouse in our environment.
Therefore, aware of this new business setting which we operate in and where we are expected to have a more responsible behaviour, not only in the development of our activities, but also in other realities, we are reinforcing our corporative commitments from our groups of interest's standpoint, gathering together the social feeling and environmental concerns of our surroundings together. Thus, we are developing the commitments of the previous exercise and we are undertaking the following ones:
All of these commitments help us to give our activities shape and to respond to our new days in real time, as well as also allowing us to define our corporative strategies from a more supportive, integrating and responsible perspective.
